Thanks to Rustin I am a big fan of Miroslav Volf. In this little clip (about 10 mins.) he talks about getting a “new past”, the beauty and necessity of forgiveness, along with the way God works in the midst of our bad stuff.
“Past is past. Past is not present. Did is not do. Was is not is.”

Oh that is great.
Isn’t it? Have you ever noticed that he sounds a little bit like “the count” on Sesame Street?
We long for a new past. I love that.
Yes, I really love this clip and I think I will post it again.
I had never heard of the guy and I had coffee with a man from a theological seminary here in the Twin Cities, and he talked about having had Volf come
talk to his students. I had to come right home to order his books and do a google search. Luckily I saw your post. Thanks so much for making it available. The Hour of Power is not programmed into my favorite channel display on my remote~
