the quiet center

“We needed to learn to live from a quiet center.” – Elizabeth O’Conner in Call to Commitment

This one of my favorite “out of print” books. It tells the story of a small group of Christians known as the Church of the Savior and their journey in Christ through the streets of Washington, DC during the 50’s and 60’s.

I keep coming back to this phrase from the book. It reminds me that what really matters is typically not measured externally but on the surface of the heart.

Paul -the quote by Elizabeth O’Conner, was it inreference to something significant? I’m not familiar with her book or the story. Just wanted to get a deeper understanding of the quote.

Or maybe what you quoted “typically not measured externally but on the surface of the heart” is the the “deeper.” Which also causes to me to ponder.

    Caught my attention! thanks 🙂
